About Us

The Social Rights Bulgaria Project aims to raise the awareness of Bulgarian non-governmental organisations (NGOs), social movements and individuals about their rights, to provide them with a forum to claim their rights and to participate in campaigns and common projects.

Information regarding the social sector in Bulgaria, the social policy on EU accession and government decisions related to the protection of people’s rights is being published regularly on the Social Rights Bulgaria website. By acting as a focus and source for specific information, the website can help to promote a sense of unity of purpose and the sharing of experiences among active Bulgarian social NGOs.

Aims

Social rights Bulgaria aims to:

  1. Inform about the activities of organisations, mouvements, governments and individuals, who aim to protect human and social rights in Bulgaria and elsewhere.
  2. Popularise thematics related to the sphere of social rights and civil society in Bulgaria.
  3. Train NGOs and readers about what are their social rights and social responsibilities, norms and values, which they need to keep, through providing examples and best/wost practices from Bulgaria and abroad.
  4. Provide points of view on topics related to social rights, by publishing quality and independent information, as well as analysis and editorials related to certain social topics and the impact social changes make on people’s lives.
  5. Provide visibility on different up-to-date discussions, campaigns and other forms of social activities.
  6. Bridge people, organisations, projects and ideas working on common goals.
