Maternity nurses at Varna hospital protest against low salaries

Varna. Maternity nurses in the obstetrics hospital in the Bulgarian coastal town of Varna have been taking protest actions, Radio Varna reported. The nurses are protesting against low salaries, amounting to BGN 175 – 209 (approx. EUR 90 – 106).a month. The protest actions started on Monday, 16 January. On 10 January the nurses held a meeting and adopted a declaration in which they requested more clarity on the situation in which they are forced to work. The declaration was sent to the Municipality of Varna, the Bulgarian Ministry of Healthcare and the Manager of the Hospital Dr. Petar Atanasov.
