New Online Journal on Globalisation, Development and Gender Issues in CEE |
A new portal related to Globalisation, Gender equality and Development has been just launched by the Serbian NGO Women’s Centre for Democracy and Human Rights. "Globalizacija.com" aims to offer women in South Eastern Europe who are not familiar with English public access to the knowledge and research of experts from relevant institutes and of members of international women’s networks as AWID (Association of Women’s Rights in Development), WIDE (Women in Development Europe), IAFFE (International Association of Feminist Economics), BRIDGE (development - gender), Penelopes, etc.
On the other side, the Journal will serve as the gateway for researchers and women-experts from SEE to present their work and findings to the English spoken community.
The topics of the Journal are: Human Rights, Development, ICT, Transition, Privatisation, Gender Equality, Engendering Macroeconomics, Gender Budgeting, Security & Militarism, Trade Liberalisation, Neoliberalism, and Alternatives.
The main theme of the first printed edition, Autumn 2005, is titled "Privatisation and Trade Liberalisation of Public Goods and Services: Who Wins; Who Loses?". The call for papers in English or Serbian (or in other South Slavic languages) is attached.
If you want to contribute the Journal by sending a paper or article for the thematic edition or on another topic related to the site, please feel free to contact Mirjana Dokmanovic, Editor-in-Chief, E-mail: mirad@eunet.yu
