International Conference: Peaceful Dimensions against Gender Violence

Join the Balkan women from Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia in “We remember” movement to heal memories from the gynocides and rape camps at: Vogosca (near Sarajevo), where witnesses speak of the murders of women after their rapes.

Foca-indoor sports arena next door to a police station, where women were held for months & raped

Brcko Lucka death camp, town of Brezovo Polje – terrorized and raped the forty young women and sent their mothers across death highways to Tuzla

Omarska, most dreaded Serb concentration camp holding doctors, lawyers, political leaders, intellectuals women were raped on a schedule of once every four days and washed the dishes for the 2,200 men held as prisoners

Presentations of:

- First person stories of Bosnian Muslim War Crimes Survivors living in the aftermath of war
- Storied instructions (borne from first person stories) in lectures ranging from Belgrade’s Anti Trafficking Center, Kolo Sumejja-kolo advisor trauma treatment and training Contact for Serbo-Croatian speakers Kolo Sumejja Susana Koric.
- Experiential peaceful events to express opposition for violence against women and children

Who is attending?

- The most important and honored guests are South Slavic women who have survived the bloodiest war with their life experiences - marginalized and often invisible women. Your donations to help these women attend are greatly needed.
- Balkan native NGOs and representatives
- Collaborating women from many other countries

Accommodations

B&B situations with the women of Novi Travnik, Travnik and Ahmicja village where the war crimes took place in April 1994. Less then one half hour to the Winter Olympics 1994, Mt. Vlasic offers more then affordable skiing lodgings. This is to help infuse money to those in most desperate economic straits and is the greatest activist measure that erases the suggestibility that our silence is complicit in crimes against humanity. Translations from/to English are available. Requests for other languages can be made upon registration.

Accessibility is acceptable for the conference meeting however accommodations are often in high rise apartments with no working elevators. Please make your request for accommodation known at registration.

Food Catered by the Bosnian Kolo Sumejja and Ahmicja women, the cuisine is organic, homegrown and gourmet levels. Requests for Vegetarian and Vegan meals can be made at registration and easily accommodated. Many small restaurants in the town are also available.

Costs

B&B lodgings directly to the Bosnian women is $250 for 4 days

Conference costs for outside Humanitarian agencies and collaborating women from other countries

$395—proceeds of this will be as follows: 60% to Novi Travnik Kolo Sumejja - trauma treatment and training, % for scholarship local attendance, 5% to local Bosnians, 10% to Kolo: WCCC for administrative costs, materials, training presentations.
